[43], [49], [50] has middle initial “J.” [9, pg. 321] provides middle name “James”.
There is some confusion in the sources concerninng Charles’ birth:
- the 1865 New York census says he was 8 years old, implying he was born in 1857
- the 1900 census, however, says he was born in Oct 1866 and confrms that with an age of 33 [10]
- this is 10 year off from the other sources
- the 1910 census says he was 53, meaning he was born around 1857 [46]
- his death certificate from 1914 says he was born on 16 Oct 1856 [43]

He does not appear in the 1920 census, so that confirms that he must have died before then.
There is a probate record for Charles that mentions his widow, Emily J., at the followinng address:
