Funeral services were held at the Gillispie home, Friday morning, after which the body was laid to rest in the Hooker cemetery.
The deceased was married to Miss Louisa J. Summers in 186l. To this union were born ten children. Left to mourn his loss are his devoted wife, five children and ten grand children; also two sisters. Children are Mrs. B. F. Gillispie, Hooker, Oklahoma: Mrs. W. B. Montgomery, San Jose, California; John M. and Walter A. Van Cleave, of Tyrone, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Willard Carr, of Tyrone, Oklahoma. The sisters are Mrs. John E. Hunt, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, and Mrs. Jennie McCoy, of Indianapolis, Indiana.
In 1887 he united with the Primitive Baptist church, in which he was a faithful and consistant member until his death.
He was a kind and loving companion unto his wife and a devoted father. He was loved and respected by all who knew him, and while he has gone from us we shall mourn for our loss and his gain. His life was a most exemplary one and we feel that the world has been made better for his having lived.
